High School Dual Enrolled Students

Interested in being a High School Dual Enrolled student? First discuss the choice with your parents and high school counselor. Opportunities vary by individual and by high school district; however, all eligible students must have successfully completed the eighth grade and be qualified to enter ninth.

  • New High School Dual Enrolled students need to create an Admissions Profile and complete an Online Application. A High School Dual Enrollment Payment & School Authorization Form also needs to be completed and uploaded as a supplement to the Online Application. See the complete list of steps.
  • Returning High School Dual Enrolled students ONLY need to verify/update their existing Online Application and attach a newly completed High School Dual Enrollment Payment & School Authorization Form as a supplement.  See the complete list of steps.

NEW HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLED STUDENT STEPS

STEP 1: COMPLETE THE DUAL ENROLLMENT SCHOOL PAYMENT & FERPA AUTHORIZATION FORM

Self-Pay Students: Complete Part I & II of the High School Dual Enrollment Form with a parent/guardian.
High School Sponsored Students: Complete Part I & II of the High School Dual Enrollment Form with a parent/guardian.

Once your High School Counselor (or parent/guardian for self-pay) signs the form, you will receive a copy for your records.  Save it to your computer as a PDF or take a photo of it. You will need it in STEP 3.

STEP 2: CREATE AN ADMISSIONS PROFILE & COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION

Go to apply. Complete the profile and application forms. Confirmation emails will be sent when the application is received and again when processed. Please allow two (2) business days for processing. If you are a returning high school dual enrolled student, see the instructions below. High School Dual Enrolled students must re-apply each semester they wish to take classes.

STEP 3: UPLOAD DUAL ENROLLMENT SCHOOL PAYMENT & FERPA AUTHORIZATION FORM

If continuing directly from STEP 2, click on My Admissions Profile at the top of the webpage. Next to your application you will see the status ACTION REQUIRED. If you do not, refresh your page. Click on the action VIEW. You will upload your completed High School Dual Enrollment Form from STEP 1. Uploading your High School Transcripts & Standardized Test Scores (SAT/ACT) are optional.

If you did not continue directly from STEP 2, log into your Admissions Profile with your personal Email and Password to complete STEP 3.

STEP 4: SET UP A MYOCC ACCOUNT & OCC EMAIL

Click on MyOCC from the OCC homepage and then select Login. Use the new MyOCC User ID and Temporary Password the College has created for you. You will be asked to change your Temporary Password ONLY. Your new MyOCC User ID CANNOT be changed.

Once logged-in to MyOCC, select Student Accounts and Sign-in to Student Email to activate your OCC email. Your OCC Student Email address uses your full MyOCC User ID adding @student.oaklandcc.edu. All future contact from OCC will now be sent to this college email account.

NOTE: If an existing OCC student has the same name, your MyOCC User ID will contain a number. If your first and last name are more than 19 letters combined, your MyOCC ID will omit the remaining letters from your first name.

You can always access both accounts by going to the OCC homepage and selecting MyOCC.

STEP 5: NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION - ONLINE

Log-in to MyOCC , and select Student and then New Student Orientation. You’ll then be asked to re-enter your MyOCC user name and password. You ONLY have to complete the New Student Orientation and a brief Student Survey at the end. While there are also many Student Lingos that are informative, they are NOT required.

NOTE: You will also have access to the Mandatory Accuplacer Practice test and Title IX. Once you’ve finished the New Student Orientation and brief Student Survey, remember to click "Mark Course Completed" to finish the orientation and then print your certificate. If you do not, you will not be able to register.

STEP 6: MANDATORY ENGLISH/MATH PLACEMENT

Unless a student has recent SAT/ACT scores or qualifies for one of the other exemptions, he/she MUST take OCC’s English placement test and then meet with a counselor to discuss the results. After the student meets with an OCC counselor, he/she must sign the High School Dual Enrollment English Placement Payment Responsibility Notice and forward to ces@oaklandcc.edu.

English Second Language (ESL) students must take Duolingo for English placement.

Taking the math placement test - ALEKS - is only necessary if you DO NOT have recent SAT scores, now accepted for all math placement or transferable math credit.

NOTE: Do not take ALEKS unless you plan on registering for a math class within a year of testing as the results expire.

STEP 7: MEET WITH A COUNSELOR

All incoming first-time college students are now required to meet with an OCC counselor. Call for an appointment at a campus convenient to you or set-up an online ZOOM meeting which does require you have a webcam.

NOTE: Make the most of your counseling appointment: Complete STEPS 1 - 6 before meeting with a counselor.

STEP 8: REGISTER FOR CLASSES VIA MyOCC

STEP 10: GET YOUR RAIDER ONE CARD

The Raider One Card is your official OCC Student ID. It also serves as your Library Card, Copy/Print Card, and iROC Cash for Raiders Store and Cafe purchases. Your first card is free, replacement cards cost $10.

STEP 11: BUY YOUR BOOKS

You can order and have your books delivered from the Raider’s Store by clicking on BUY YOUR BOOKS above, selecting Buy Textbooks and following the directions. The Raider Bookstore provides competitive comparisons to get your books!

RETURNING HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLED STUDENT STEPS

STEP 1: COMPLETE THE DUAL ENROLLMENT SCHOOL PAYMENT & FERPA AUTHORIZATION FORM

Self-Pay Students: Complete Part I of the High School Dual Enrollment Form with a parent/guardian. 
High School Sponsored Students: Complete BOTH Part I & Part II of the High School Dual Enrollment Form with parent/guardian AND High School.

Save the completed form to your computer as a .pdf, or take a picture of the completed form and save as .jpg. You will need this for STEP 3.

STEP 2:

RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY: Log into your Admissions Profile. Click ‘Create a New Application’ and complete a new application for the semester in which you wish to attend. Be sure to select the options for High School Dual Enrolled.

Most of the information from your previous application will populate. Verify the information is correct and complete any required fields marked with a red *. Submit.

NOTE: The Admissions Profile Email User ID and Password are different from the MyOCC User ID and Password that are still active and used to access your MyOCC and Student Email.
