We offer tremendous academic experiences, and dedicated faculty and professional staff willing to help you complete your Apprenticeship program and more at Oakland Community College

STEP 1: CREATE AN ADMISSIONS PROFILE & COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION

Go to apply. Complete the Profile and Application forms. Confirmation emails are sent when the application is received and again when processed. Please allow two (2) business days for processing.

NOTE: After submitting your application, refresh your Admission Profile. You will see a tab called Supplemental Items & Documents. This area will allow you to upload optional and/or required documents.

Placement Testing may be waived for those who qualify.

STEP 2: SET UP A MyOCC ACCOUNT & OCC STUDENT EMAIL

After you receive confirmation that your application has been processed, you will need to log into your MyOCC Account. Be sure to add your Secondary Email on the Change/Add Email screen - this will allow you to reset your own password if needed. Once logged in to MyOCC, sign in to Student Email to ACTIVATE your required OCC STUDENT EMAIL account. Check your email often for important news & updates.

STEP 3: NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION - ONLINE

Students new to OCC are required to complete the New Student Orientation before registration. You must have an OCC ID and MyOCC account to access the link. Go to MyOCC, log in, and select New Student Orientation. After you have completed the survey, remember to click "Mark Course Completed" and print your certificate to finish the orientation.

STEP 4: MEET APPRENTICESHIP COORDINATOR

Make an appointment by phone at 248.232.4274 or email apprenticeship@oaklandccc.edu. Obtain a copy of your Apprenticeship RTI (related technical instruction) from your employer if you have one, and discuss the details of the program and registration process.

STEP 5: REGISTER FOR CLASSES

Know if your employer is going to be paying your classes or if you will be paying your tuition up front; or seeking reimbursement from your employer. If your employer is paying for your classes, the ‘selection of classes’ will be authorized by your employer and your registration of class(s) will be completed by the Engineering, Manufacturing and Industrial Technologies (EMIT) department at OCC. If you are paying for your own classes, you must register for your classes at MyOCC. For assistance, please contact: Enrollment Services at 248.341.2000.

STEP 6: PAYMENT

If your employer is paying for your tuition and fees; including textbooks and supplies, your employer will complete a sponsorship authorization form, and the Business Office at OCC will invoice your ‘sponsor’ employer directly. If you are paying your tuition and fee, you must pay for the classes according to OCC payment guidelines.

STEP 7: GET YOUR RAIDER ONE CARD

The Raider One Card is your Official OCC Student ID. It serves as your Student ID, Library Card, Copy/Print Card, and iROC Cash for Raiders Store and Cafe purchases. Your first card is free, replacement cards cost $10. Your official OCC Student ID can be picked up at the Business Office.

STEP 8: GET YOUR TEXTBOOKS

If your employer is going to pay your books and any supplies through OCCs authorized sponsored billing, the EMIT department has got you covered. If you will be required to pay for them yourself you will need to go The Raider Bookstore and place your order online.
